Wow I don’t know where to start, One Life! I wanted to start the year off right in 2012 and made a lot of goals (for deviceplanet.com of course and a couple of other projects) but I felt I really needed some inspiration. Ever feel like that? Where your on the verge of something but just need the last “kick” so to speak? Well that’s where I’ve been recently. And by pure coincidence late tonight I decided to watch a much put off documentary called One Life. Let me tell you it was one of the best decisions I’ve made all year (5 days in!) Let’s just say I’ve got my kick.. This is a wildlife documentary narrated by Daniel Craig with over 10,000 hours of footage looked over to make this BBC Wildlife masterpiece! I mean I’m a very creative person in general with music and web/graphic design and this was the most inspiring and motivational documentary I have ever seen, I mean it is phenomenal.
There are many heartfelt scenes (which really reminded me how beautiful life can be) involving creatures you would have never imagined to act in such a way! I mean there was even a scene between a little funny looking mouse and a lizard involved in some kind of high speed dessert chase. I honestly felt I was in the Fast and the Furious but with the lizard as Vin Diesel and the mouse as Paul Walker (the first one where they weren’t friends yet!)
With some of the most amazing cinematography I have seen to date (I don’t remember the last time I was shocked like this watching a movie or documentary) and the PERFECT soundtrack to go along with everything. I remember quoting myself during the moving saying “I want this to play at all times in this house” I don’t want to spoil it for you but I suggest you pick it up ASAP and watch it on a Friday night with the wife or girlfriend, some popcorn, and enjoy one of the finest documentaries ever made.
